King Hezekiah was faced with the threat of an invasion by the mighty Assyrian empire, which had already achieved many victories. As king, he was responsible for the well-being of his people, but he could not save them from this distress. Yet Hezekiah did not give in to his fear. Instead, he encouraged the people by reminding them that the power of the living God is greater than any human army.
Times change and difficulties come and go, but God’s faithfulness remains unchanged. He promises to be near His children and to assist them when they go through trials. Therefore, we need not let fear control us. Fear paralyzes, but trusting in the Lord gives courage, strength, and perseverance to stand firm.
Therefore, live with a sincere heart and continue walking in God’s ways. Trust that He will intervene in His own time in the circumstances that you cannot change yourself. Whoever places their hope in the Lord may know that He knows the struggle and that His help never fails.
