“It is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers.” (Romans 2:13)
Being in church doesn’t make you a Christian yet.
The Jews in the Old Testament were not saved by hearing the law. At present we are also not saved by hearing the law. If it does not touch our heart, then it has no value or worth. If rain falls on a field, then it will start to grow there. If rain falls on the street, it only floods into the drain.
There are enough dead religions where you only have to join in the ritual and then all is well. But truly serving God is something totally different. It doesn’t matter to God whether you loyally fulfil your religious obligations or not. He is not interest in knowing to which religious group you belong.
What is important to God is if you are genuine. He wants to know how you stand before Him when no one is looking. And He knows it, for He looks at your heart. Why would you be participating in church only for the show of it? You cannot fool the only One who counts. Give your heart to Him!
Do you serve God because you have a relationship with Him? Or is it just dead religion?
