Making a sacrifice

Passie voor verloren zielen

“We endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel.” (1 Corinthians 9:12)

Good for others more important than good for ourselves.

Important priorities should be on top of the list. The most important priority is the progress of the Gospel. Nothing is more important than the question of whether men has received forgiveness of their sins and found eternal life through Jesus.

Paul risked his life, suffered hardships, even refused financial support to convince as many people as possible of the truth of the gospel. He was willing to sacrifice the good for himself in order to give others the best.

Are we willing to tell about Jesus even when others ridicule us for it? Are we willing to give much of our money so that others can hear about God? Are we willing to give up our privileges if the Gospel becomes more attractive because of it?

When we hesitate about the answers, we come to another question: what is more important to us than the Gospel?
