O Lord, God of my salvation,
I cry out day and night before you.
Let my prayer come before you;
incline your ear to my cry!
” (Psalm 88:1-2)

When you are living with somebody, you don’t ignore this person all day. It’s natural to communicate. When we are living in God’s presence, it’s natural to communicate with Him as well! The Bible encourages us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This does not mean that we’ll be on our knees all day, but that we are having an ongoing conversation with God as we do our duties, meet other people or just live our daily life.

It’s helpful to start your day with a moment of dedicated prayer, since this helps you to be aware of God’s presence and to get the right perspective before you take on life’s challenges for the day. It is also helpful to end your day with a moment of meditation and prayer to lay everything that’s on your mind in the Lord’s hands. But there’s no need to limit your communication with God to these moments or to specific places. Whenever something comes to your mind that you want to thank God for or pray about, you can do so at any time. God is always “within hearing distance” as you are living in His presence.

Do you communicate with God?
