Is it possible that there are aliens in the Bible?

Does the Bible speak about aliens?

The Bible gives us an account of how the earth, planets and heavens (which would include our universe as well as any other universe there may be) came into being. God planned it all and created angels, man and animals, which are the only things mentioned in the Bible with life, intelligence and the ability to interact with one another. Hence the short answer to “according to the Bible, is it possible that there are aliens?” is, no.

The Bible does mention living creatures (in Ezekiel) which do not seem to resemble anything that we know of in the world, or in our understanding of angels, but Hebrews 4:13 reminds us that nothing is hidden from God’s sight and everything must give an account to God. Therefore whilst some may think that the book of Ezekiel is proof of aliens, we know that Ezekiel was in the presence of God, as were the living creatures. We cannot limit God in his creation of things and there are surely many things that we have never seen or heard about, and are way beyond our ability to comprehend.

The Bible gives us reasons why God created everything

The Bible gives us reasons why God created all of the planets, stars, angels, man, animals and all that we see in our world and through space exploration.

  1. To glorify Him (Psalm 19:1)
  2. The sun, moon and stars were created to give mark time, seasons and days for us (Gen 1:14 – 19)
  3. To display God’s splendor to all of mankind (Psalm 8:1, 3, 9)
  4. So that these things would cause people to come to know God as they realize his greatness from all He has created. Romans 1: 18 – 20

When man sinned and disobeyed God, all of creation was affected (Romans 8:20-22). God’s final plan is that when Jesus Christ returns, He will ultimately destroy all of creation which will include every planet and star, and will make a new heaven and a new earth. (2 Peter 3:7-10; Revelation 21:1)

The Bible tells us about God’s dealing with us, human beings, and gives no indication that there is a parallel world. Outside of planet earth there are only two other places that mention the presence of life, that is heaven and hell. We know from reading the Bible that these two places are connected to our planet in that everyone who lives here will ultimately go to one of these places.
