“Christ Jesus … wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
ALL we need we find in Christ.
If we believe, we are in Christ’. That means that everything that belongs to Christ is also ours. He’s His righteousness, or justice, is ours. Jesus not only died for us, He also lived for us. God does not count us our sins, but Jesus’ righteous life!
First God declares us righteous for Christ’s sake. Then He makes us holy – and that also happens through Christ. That is not to say that we are perfect. It means that we flee from sin and take refuge in Jesus. We know that He is our only hope.
Finally, God delivers us through Christ. Salvation here is the ultimate redemption that comes with the resurrection from the dead on the new earth.
Righteousness, sanctification and redemption. Three steps of a ladder that are inseparable to each other. God guarantees us in Christ: whoever has taken the first step will reach the final goal.
