These Biblical guidelines show what spiritual leadership entails: a calling to humble and dedicated service. It means renouncing status and self-interest, and following the example of Jesus, who washed the feet of His disciples. In a time when prestige and recognition are often central, it is important to return to the image of the servant leader, who not only speaks but, above all, lives out what he teaches.
This commission also applies within the family. Children need parents who exemplify honesty, respect, and mutual service. A family grows when leadership is not used to be served, but to build up and serve others.
At work, at school, and in society, every believer is also called to make this attitude visible. When our faith is expressed daily in words and deeds, our actions often speak more powerfully than our words. By doing good and maintaining an upright way of life, we remove prejudice and create opportunities to bear witness to the living Christ.
